Drowning

You weren’t strong enough before, Johnny, but you might just be now.  The weight of it all, they like to call it.  But, it’s not some measurable weight that suddenly becomes too heavy.  The weight is pressure as you get deeper and deeper.  It takes a certain amount of strength and sight to continue to swim down, lower and lower.  You’ve been swimming for years now, Johnny. Building your strength. Gaining sight in the deep dark water. The water isn’t so murky down here, but it is pretty fucked up when you can see clearly.  Isn’t it Johnny?

That’s right, Johnny, I think you’re finally strong enough.  You’ve come this far, this deep.  You’re too far away to make it back to the lightness of the surface.  You’re here now.  You’ve worked 6 long fucking years to see this clearly.  So, Johnny, are you strong enough to see it?  That’s a door down there at the bottom.  Are you strong enough to open it?  Do you know what’s on the other side of that door, Johnny?

That’s the beauty of it all.  Can’t you see?  All this clarity and everything is pretty fucked up.  There’s no clarity beyond that door.  But, it’s tough to open, Johnny.  You can’ t just open it on a whim.  You won’t have the strength.

With all your clarity,

With all your strength,

Open that door, Johnny.
